Lunch with Cheska Kramer for Cycles Sensitive + Giveaway

It's the last day of the love month and let me end it with another giveaway from Cycles Sensitive.  Cycles Baby has been a part of our life for the past 7 years.  When we had N, we were conscious about the products that we use on her body and her clothes.  My early research showed Cycles Baby laundry detergent to be the mildest product for baby's use - and so we chose that laundry detergent for N's clothes.

Eventually, I was surprised to find out that Eveolution, Inc., the company behind Cycles Baby, is owned by college batchmates - Dennis and Emily.  With 5 kids, they found themselves having had to import products from abroad to suit their sensitive kids.  They decided to expand Cycles Baby and develop a bath and body line to meet their needs - and so, Cycles Sensitive was born.

Together with other SoMoms and media partners, I was invited to the launch of Cycles Sensitive to meet their new endorser, Cheska Kramer, and learn about their product line.  Side note: I was even more excited because dear hubby photographed Cheska for this campaign!

I have been following Cheska on Instagram and I love how she is bringing notice to breastfeeding with her IG posts.  For instance, she posts about how she hand expresses breastmilk for her bunso, Gavin.  I've seen very few local celebrities talk about breastfeeding and even less who talk about hand expression.

From her posts, one can also see that Cheska is very hands-on when taking care of her children. During our luncheon, Cheska shared how she has been using Cycles Sensitive for Gavin even before she was asked to endorse the product.  What attracted her to Cycles Sensitive was the emphasis on how the products are fragrance free, hypoallergenic, paraben free, and dermatologist tested.

If you are a long-term reader of this blog, you are sure to know that I am particular about the products I use for my family.  As a meticulous mom myself, parabens are a top no-no as they are endocrine disruptors. You can read more about that here.

During the launch, Cycles Sensitive invited a dermatologist, Dr. Donna Marie L. Sarrosa, who gave a presentation about caring for baby's skin and other common skin problems encountered by parents.  What intrigued me most about her presentation was the part that zeroed in on insect repellents.  There are so many brands out there and her presentation helped me understand how to choose the safest and most effective insect repellent to use on my kids.

I was pleased to learn that Cycles Sensitive offers 2 types of insect repellents - the Natural Insect Repellent, which is formulated with mild natural Citronella and Eucalyptus extracts (made for babies short-term use) and the non-DEET Insect Repellent, which contains Picaridin, an effective alternative to DEET (for older kids and offers up to eight hours of protection).   Cycles Sensitive also has the citronella patches which we already put to good use.
