We Love Mustela!

If you follow me on Instagram, you will definitely notice that my favorite brand of skin care products for my kids is Mustela.
I first discovered this brand when my daughter was diagnosed with lichen striatus.  I was using another product recommended by her pedia-derma.  However, the product did not have any list of ingredients. After further investigation, I found that it contained parabens!!  No wonder the company didn't list any ingredients on its label!  Sadly though, other products under this same brand is being marketed as being the best product for newborns.

I chanced upon Mustela during one of the ExpoMom bazaars in Rockwell.  I read the labels on their products and did some research about the best product to treat N's skin condition.  We ended up with the Stelatopia Emollient cream which comes in a tube or pump bottle.  Admittedly, the cream was pricey - it was P1,380 when I purchased it.  However, Mustela Philippines has adjusted their pricing and I believe the same cream is now cheaper at P1,190.

Since then we've become Mustela fans (including Stan who loves their massage oil).  For last summer's Boracay trip, we packed several items from the Sun Care line - the protective cream, sun cream for the face and after sun spray.  Since we were on back to back summer trips, I had to make sure that the kids stay sunburn free - which they did!

Meanwhile, a favorite bonding activity of N and E is bubble baths.  We do limit bubble baths as I find it waste of water.  But during the times that I relent, the multi-sensory bubble bath serves as an additional treat. Not only does this product smell good, it is also gentle and does not sting their eyes.

I've recently restocked our favorite Mustela products and ordering is very easy.  You can either visit their kiosks which can be found at major malls or email them for delivery.

Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the launch of Mustela's Rebirth - the reformulation of the Mustela Bebe line.  Mustela products have been reformulated to include avocado perseose - a patented natural ingredient which stimulates the barrier function of the skin cells and acts as shield against external stresses on the skin.  Trivia:  avocado was the first food of both N and E!
Aside from this ingredient, Mustela promises that their products have been completely eliminated of parabens, phenoxyethanol, pthalate, EDA, genetically modified plant extract, chlorphenesin, alcohol, SLS.  Not only that, Mustela's products are designed to minimize environmental impact as they use biodegradable foaming cleansers and 100% recyclable bottles.  Now, if only we had a decent collection system for these recyclable bottles!

To celebrate the rebirth of Mustela Bebe, Mustela Philipines is having a sale until October 20, 2013. See poster below for more details.
